circadin 2mg
Circadin is a medicine containing the active ingredient Melatonin which helps overcome any short-term jet lag associated sleeping problems.
Melatonin is produced naturally in the body, and is usually released by your body, to prepare you for sleep, i.e. it gives you that tired feeling that makes you want to sleep. Circadin contains this hormone, which acts to help regulate your sleep pattern.
Melatonin has been found to help people sleep and reduce general feelings of jet lag in some, but not all studies are conclusive.
Drinking alcohol before or after you take Circadin can reduce how effective it is.
One tablet to be taken 1-2 hours before bedtime for two to four days on arrival at your destination. Tablets should be taken whole and with food.
Like any medicine that is taken, Circadin can potentially cause side effects or have no side effects at all. Most people do not experience side effects with this medicine. However, the most common ones reported are headaches, nausea, cold-like symptoms (sore throat/ runny nose) and back pain.
Some medicines are not suitable for people with certain conditions or on particular medicines. For this reason, it is very important you declare your full medical history to our Click Doctors via our online consultations so that a proper judgement can be made on its safety.
