MORE INFORMATION

A migraine is typically a moderate or severe headache felt as a throbbing pain on one side of the head. Many people also have symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and increased sensitivity to light or sound.
Migraine is a common health condition, affecting around 1 in 5 women and around 1 in 15 men. They usually begin in early adulthood and come in bouts throughout the year.
The precise cause is unknown but it is suggested that there is an underlying genetic cause since half of those who suffer from migraines have a relative with the condition. There are some reported triggers such as stress, and particular food and drinks such as cheese and alcohol.
There is no cure to migraines however, medicines can be used to help reduce and control the symptoms. Over the counter medicines such as paracetamol and ibuprofen may help. However, triptans offered in our online Click Doctor clinics can actively reverse changes that occur in the brain that is suggested to be the cause of such headaches.
