Dymista Nasal Spay is a dual action nasal spray used to help relieve nasal symptoms of allergies in individuals over the age of 12 years old, particularly those with hay fever. Dymista Nasal Spray contains the 2 active ingredients called Azelastine hydrochloride and Fluticasone
Azelastine hydrochloride works by blocking a substance called histamine from forming and acting on the eyes during an allergic reaction. Histamine causes the unpleasant itchy, blocked or runny nose and therefore, these drops help prevent these symptoms.
Fluticasone is a steroid, which helps reduce the inflammation in the nose that similarly prevents and reduces the unpleasant allergy symptoms of the nose.
Use one spray in each nostril twice a day (morning and evening) for the period instructed by our Click Doctors.

Its application is as follows:
(1) Gently blow your nose
(2) Shake the spray gently and test it by spraying in the air until it releases a fine mist.
(3) Slightly tilt your head forward at an angle and slowly exhale. Hold the spray with your thumb under the bottom of the bottle, and your first and second fingers around your nozzle.
(4) Close your other nostril with your free hand and slowly breathe in through your nose while you squeeze the pump.
(5) Repeat in the other nostril and replace the cap once done
Dymista Nasal Spray relieves symptoms typically within 30 minutes of using. It has been shown to be twice as effective as fluticasone propionate or azalastine alone at treating allergic rhinitis (nose allergy).
Dymista is most effective when used regularly for at least a few days.
Like all medicines, taking Dymista Nasal Spray can cause potential side effects but these may not necessarily be experienced. These include a nosebleed, headache, bitter taste in mouth, unpleasant smells, dryness or irritation of the nose.
Some medicines are not suitable for people with certain conditions or on particular medicines. For this reason, it is very important you declare your full medical history to our Click Doctors via our online consultations so that a proper judgement can be made on its safety.

Do not use Dymista Nasal Spray:
  • If you are allergic to its active ingredients or any of its other ingredients
  • If you develop signs of a serious allergic reaction to include a skin rash that may be itchy, red, swollen or peeling skins, wheeziness, chest tightness, trouble with breathing or swelling of mouth, lips, face tongue or throat, you must go to your nearest A&E or call 999 immediately.

For full information on how to take, side effects and precautions, it is important that you carefully read the patient information leaflet.
